In 2021 PRJCT Amsterdam returned to the concert halls with great pleasure. On October 2, we stood before a full house again after about two years; at the Night of Poetry in een uitverkocht TivoliVredenburg Utrecht. Tijdens de nacht werd het publiek getrakteerd op vele uren poëzie van ‘s lands beste dichters. Samen met PRJCT Amsterdam was Maarten gevraagd om – naast Claudia de Breij en Jett Rebel – een muzikaal intermezzo te verzorgen met hits uit de baroktijd. Een geweldige kans om via mini colleges het publiek mee te nemen naar een paar eeuwen terug en hun harten te bereiken met wonderschone muziek.
Also, the concert series If Music be the Food of Love met wereldberoemd countertenor Andreas Scholl was een enorm succes. Met vrijwel uitverkochte zalen en een geweldige intense sfeer konden we ons geen betere (her)start van PRJCT Amsterdam wensen. Op 30 april 2022 zal een derde succesconcert volgen in het Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Amsterdam.
Finally, PRJCT Amsterdam, with a small cast of voice, harpsichord, cello and theorbo, resumed its much sought-after project Virtuoso! from 24 to 28 November, in collaboration with Organisatie Oude Muziek. From the beautiful Zuidervermaning in Westzaan to De Waalse Kerk in Amsterdam, we played the most beautiful cantatas by Vivaldi and pearls by Monteverdi, until unfortunately the tour had to be stopped due to the new announced coronation measures. Fortunately enough, NPO Radio 4 was present at the last concert in Amsterdam, where they made a very successful recording for their Evening Concert. The concert is here listen back.
